The Airflow 'Alpha' fume cupboard is a high-performance model for use in a wide variety of laboratory situations. Designed in accordance with current British Standards, BS7258. Sound engineering and aerodynamic principles have resulted in a unit with smooth airflow into the fume chamber and efficient purging of fumes at all sash openings.
Double skin construction. Outer skin from epoxy powder coated steel. Inner chamber to suit application, e.g:
| Linings | Work Surface | Sashes |
| One piece moulded epoxy resin | Cast epoxy sheet | Toughened glass |
| PVC | PVC | Polycarbonate |
| Polypropylene | Polypropylene | |
| Acid resistant grade laminate | Acid resistant grade laminate | |
| Acid resistant Stainless Steel | Acid resistant Stainless Steel | |
| Toughened Glass |
The sash is counterbalance for smooth movement, and will not fail if a suspension cable breaks. As the sash approaches the closed position, an automatic bypass allows air to enter the upper part of the chamber, ensuring correct purging and minimal increase in face velocity.
